Local Amenities

Woodhall Spa is a beautiful inland resort with an Edwardian character, and is surrounded by pine and birch woodland. Regarded as one of Lincolnshire's most attractive villages, Woodhall Spa offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect location for a short break or holiday.

The village has a variety of attractions including two top class golf courses at the National Golf Centre, voted best inland course in the UK by Golf World Magazine. Woodhall Spa also offers a unique cinema, Kinema In The Woods, which opened in 1922 and still shows films using a rare original rear projection unit. Alternatively you could spend time at the heated open air swimming pool adjacent to our site.

The unique character of the life and culture of Woodhall Spa and its locality is portrayed at the Cottage Museum, which is a community project aimed at preserving the history of the local community. A different view point of the history of Woodhall Spa, can be found in The Treasure Box Project, which aims to show off to everyone, no matter where they come from, the community and heritage of this village from the view of those that are the future of Woodhall Spa - the children.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre is 5 miles south of Woodhall Spa, which now operates a Lancaster, five Spitfires, two Hurricanes, a Dakota and two Chipmunk aircraft. All based at RAF Coningsby a front line airbase, home to 3, 11, 17 and 29 Squadrons flying the Typhoon.

The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre is a family run museum and was set up over 20 years ago. It is now widely seen as a living memorial to the 55,500 men of Bomber Command who lost their lives during WW2. It holds one of the rarest aircraft, an Avro Lancaster Bomber, in its collection along with many wartime vehicles including a Ford WOT1 Crew Bus, the only one of its kind known in existence.
Lincolnshire was home to many other WW2 squadrons, including 617 Squadron - "The Dambusters", 627 Squadron, 12 and 626 Squadrons at RAF Wickenby - now a civilian airfield.
Lincolnshire is also home to many active airbases, including RAF Cranwell and RAF Waddington.
